A Nature Tour to Tawang - Arunachal Pradesh

 Guwahati - Tezpur - Bomdilla - Tawang - Bhalukpung - Tezpur - Guwahati

Day 1: Guwahati to Tezpur: 

Arrival at Guwahati airport. After breakfast and a brief welcome ceremony in Guwahati, board the vehicle for your journey to Tezpur. Reach Tezpur at evening. Nestling among Assam’s undulating hills at the northern bank of Brahmaputra is the pleasant city of Tezpur. Once known as Sonitpur, or ‘City of Blood’, Tezpur has interesting myths woven around it. Legend has it that lord Krishna waged a bloody battle against lord Shiva(Hari-Har-Yudh) to save the love of princess Usha and Prince Aniruddha. Overnight at Tezpur. (185 kms/ 5 hrs drive) 

Day 2: Tezpur to Bomdilla: 

After breakfast drive through the picturesque tea gardens of Tezpur to reach Bhalukpung, on the foothills of Eastern Himalayas. After entry formalities we enter Arunachal, bounty of unending natural beauty. Driving for 20 minutes through curly roads overlooking the dancing 'Bhoroli' river you arrive at Tipi, where lies the Orchidarium, a glass house having 7500 orchids. We drive on to Bomdilla (100km, 4 hrs). On reaching Bomdilla check in to the hotel for overnight stay. Bomdilla commands a view of the beautiful Himalayan Landscape, and also has a number of Buddhist Gompas plus lovely apple orchards. It is a beautiful small town situated at a height of about 8000 ft. above the sea level from where one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdilla is the repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the area. (204 kms/8hrs drive) 

Day 3: Bomdilla to Tawang:

After breakfast we depart for Tawang (180km, 6 hrs), the blessed land of Monpa's. Drive through centuries old Dirang Basti a 'Dirang Monpa' tribal village, still retaining its old stone made houses and its colourful inhabitants with warmth in their hearts, Dirang town overlooking the fast flowing Dirang river, Sela pass (13703ft) and Jaswant-Garh Chino-Indian war memorial. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay. In the night you can see illuminated Tawang Monastery. (180 kms/7hrs drive) 

Day 4: Tawang Sightseeing:

Tawang, the world of mystics and enchanting beauties, forms the westernmost district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at a soaring height of nearly 10, 000 ft and shares its boundaries with Tibet (China) in the north, Bhutan in the south east and West Kameng in the east. It is a beautiful natural site and provide tourist a lucky chance for deep communion with nature. Full day explore Tawang Monastery which is more than 350 years old and dramatic background is eye catching. In the afternoon visit the Urgelling Monastary associated with the birth of the 6th Dalai Lama, Ani Gonpa located 12km from Tawang and over night stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Tawang Sightseeing (Bumla, Subject to Indian Army Permit):

Early morning leave for Bumla, the point where India shares its boundary with China. It is situated at 16000 feet above sea level. On the way back visit Madhuri Lake. Return to Tawang for Overnight stay.

Day 6: Tawang to Bomdilla:

Early morning drive to Jang to encounter the waterfalls, one of the breathtaking sights. Move onto Bomdilla(150km), another heart pulling place with scenic beauty, en-route stopping at Sela Top (13000 ft). Check into hotel for overnight stay at Bomdila. (180 kms/7hrs drive) 

Day 7: Bomdila to Tezpur:

We will drive down to Tezpur starting in the morning. Will reach Tezpur at around 6 PM. Overnight @ hotel.

Day 8: Tezpur to Guwahati (185 kms/5 hrs drive):

Return towards Guwahati where the tour ends. (204 kms/8hrs drive)
